I've been dying to revisit the town where I went to college... a little piece of heaven known as Columbia, Missouri. Located there is The University of Missouri, more commonly known as Mizzou.
Co-Mo might not be the classiest of college towns, but it certainly isn't the worst (I'm looking at you, Lawrence). I followed in my big sister's footsteps and became a waitress at arguably the best bar and grill in the area. Willie's Pub and Pool/Fieldhouse offered an environment that suited all personality types. There was a patio that faced out toward the busiest street in the city, always a prime location on Mizzou football Saturdays, or really any sporting event for that matter. If you were in the mood to dance, Fieldhouse provided not one, but two areas to make that drunken dream come true. In the front, you have the bar where they play music that everyone knows and where the drunker you get, the more likely you are to sing and dance along to it.
Then there's the back dancefloor. This is geared toward people who seriously came to get down. R&B and rap music fill the room and college co-eds come in swarms to hear the hottest dj spin the hottest records. It gets real in there. And sweaty. Always a phenomenal choice after a long week of exams... or after a breakup.
I also want to visit my sorority house. It's unbelievable how much I took living there for granted. Sure, compared to other house it was on the older/smaller side... but it was full of some of my best friends. First semester sophomore year I was crammed into a room the size of my walk-in-closet at home, with two other girls. It was rough at times, but it was also probably the best room in the house to hang out in. There were always late night study sessions, "getting ready" festivities, Law & Order: SVU marathons, random dance parties...

The bars, the parties, the college experiences - THE PEOPLE... It's just such a good town full of (for the most part) amazing people who are just looking to have a good time, and pass a few classes along the way.
I'd give anything to go back for a year and really live it up. Now that I really think about it... can you imagine how destructive that would be? I can't believe I made it out alive the first time...
